The first picture was taken during my first trip to Asia in 2005. We took a morning bus from Phnom Penh, Cambodia to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I remember how you could notice the difference between the quality of the road between Cambodia and Vietnam, immediately after crossing the border. The road was all paved up all the way to the city.

At the time, Cambodia still didn’t have any Western fast food so it was a surprise to see a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Ho Chi Minh. Cambodia had to wait until March 2008 for the first KFC to open on Phnom Penh’s Monivong Boulevard.
